SacRT Light Rail Trains Uses K Street Crossover Diamond Track, Sacramento CA

Mar 1, 2025 Got video of some Sacramento Region Transit light rail trains on the SacRT Blue Line in Downtown Sacramento, California street running K Street using the Crossover Diamond between the 9th & K/St Rose Of Lima Park Station & 10th & K/Cathedral Square Station. This was due to construction at the Globe Station. Trains were using the inbound direction crossover, then turning around at 10th & K back outbound. I pamned around a few times to the Gold Line bit since some Gold Line trains were a little late, and it caused me to have to keep turning my camera quickly. When the Blue Line was opened on the system in 2003, this was the normal turn around point back then but normally used the crossover headed in an outbound direction where as this video used the crossover in an inbound direction. This was normal from 2003 - 2006/07 when they switched the alignment of the Blue and Gold Lines in the Downtown Area and North of Downtown. the Gold Line from 2006 - 2007 normally used this as a turnaround point before the phase 4 extension to the Sacramento Valley Station was opened in 2007. Also, the first train sported a Downtown headsign which was the Blue Line's original headsign for inbound trains back when the Blue Line terminated in Downtown from 2003 - 2006/07. The Gold Line uses it on the old high floor trains as the normal headsigns from 2006/07 - Present. The streetrunning crossings in this area in video the 9th Street and 10th Street railroad crossings controlled by traffic signals the trains follow except for the one down at the Gold/Blue/Green Line Diamond has a wayside signal for train clearence.
