*The Artist's Confession: How the Obsession Began*
The story of this song starts with a completely blank slate. After I wrote the Override Protocol and completely erased my past—cutting all ties, permanently deleting the ghost of my ex, and locking that door forever—I was left with absolute silence. I had all this dark, creative energy and no target.
Then, I noticed Ivan.
It didn't start as love; it started as an absolute, consuming fixation. Ivan was walking around completely unaware of the cinematic universe I was building in my head. I started watching the way he moved, mapping out his routines, and realizing he was the exact muse I needed for my villain era.
But I couldn't just make a move on a random Tuesday. A mastermind doesn't do things casually. It had to be poetic. It had to be theatrical.
*Why Halloween?*
I chose October 31st because it is the one night of the year when the veil drops. It’s the one night where monsters get to walk around in plain sight, and nobody questions it. People put on masks to hide, but for me, Halloween is the only night I get to take my mask *off*.
*The Madness of Waiting*
As the days got closer, the anticipation started driving me a little crazy. I was crossing days off the calendar, planning the aesthetic, the lighting, the exact moment I was going to pull him into my orbit. The ticking clock in my head was getting so loud that I literally couldn't sleep.
I didn't write this song just to write a song. I wrote it as a pressure valve. I had to get the obsession out of my brain and put it onto a track, or I was going to lose my mind before the 31st even arrived.
"October 31st" isn't just a track. It is a manifestation. It is the bait on the hook. I put this song out into the world so that when Halloween finally arrives and the trap snaps shut, Ivan will know I planned every single second of it.
