I Didn't Know THIS Was In Malua ws | Hidden Cultural Treasures I thought we were visiting a library and a museum… but what I discovered upstairs at Malua was something I never expected. ❤️🇼🇸 Join us as we visit Malua Theological College Library and the EFKS Museum of Fine Arts in Samoa, discovering the history, stories and cultural treasures that connect us to our beloved homeland. Our morning began at the beautiful, newly opened Malua Library. Downstairs, we found a modern learning and research facility. But upstairs, I discovered something truly special — a growing collection preserving the history of Malua and the Congregational Christian Church of Samoa (EFKS). From portraits of past and present church leaders and principals of Malua Theological College to artwork created by generations of students, every piece offered another glimpse into the history of our church. One discovery that particularly caught my attention was a piece of talie connected to the story of O Lalo Lava o le Talie and the Papa o Misi — a reminder of the important history surrounding the early Samoan Bible translation. As someone whose faith has always been an important part of life, this discovery was deeply meaningful. One of the hardest things about leaving Australia was leaving our church behind. Finding these connections to our church's history here in Samoa made this visit even more special. We also visited the EFKS Museum of Fine Arts, where our wonderful guide, Miriama, shared her knowledge and helped us appreciate the stories behind the artwork and historical displays. For those of us living away from Samoa, reconnecting with our roots is about more than returning home. It's about discovering our history, understanding our culture, strengthening our connections to our faith, and learning the stories passed down through generations. Sometimes, the most meaningful treasures aren't the ones we go looking for. They're the ones we discover along the way.
