One Hive, One Highland - A Digital Media Production from the Highland Local School District

Highland High School’s Digital Media Production course would like to share our “One Hive, One Highland” project. Our goal with this project was to highlight our amazing school district in a way that celebrates the great number of people that make it so special. The story of the Highland Local School district is not only one about a journey from the first days of kindergarten through high school graduation, it is also one that reflects what can be accomplished when a great number of people work together with passion and a shared goal. Just like ONE HIVE takes innumerable individuals to operate effectively, so too does it take many individuals to make ONE HIGHLAND a reality. We could not have accomplished this without the help of many people. Our transportation department and bus drivers, who helped transport close to 1,500 elementary students to our stadium at the same time. Our district administrators, who agreed to the project and were critical in coordinating this event so that it could be conducted safely and efficiently. Mr. Ty Damon from the HHS math department for helping to crunch the numbers and figure out how to spell Highland with over 3,000 people. All district teachers, who allowed us to have a portion of the school day, and who helped keep the students organized and engaged. Our student population, whose behavior on the day of our filming exceeded expectations. Our staff who stayed behind to make sure our schools never stopped running or preparing meals for the kids when they returned to their buildings. And finally our families. We could not have done any of this without their faith and trust in us. We hope this project can serve as a reminder of the special nature of Highland Local Schools. Thank you all for helping to make this district a great place to work, study, and serve. It is a great day to be a hornet!
