The Psychology of Keanu Reeves: How Loss Made the Kindest Man in Hollywood

His father left. His best friend died at 23. He lost a child and a partner. And he still became known as the kindest man in Hollywood. In this video, we break down the psychology of Keanu Reeves and the 5 mental habits behind his resilience and kindness — and how you can use them in your own life. The 5 habits: 1. Carry your grief instead of running from it — continuing bonds (Klass, Silverman & Nickman, 1996) 2. Give, and you'll feel richer — prosocial spending (Dunn, Aknin & Norton, 2008) 3. Keep a quiet ego — quiet ego (Wayment & Bauer, 2008) 4. Lose yourself in hard, meaningful work — flow (Csikszentmihalyi, 1990) 5. Let mortality sharpen your priorities — socioemotional selectivity theory (Carstensen, 1999) Chapters: 0:00 The Nicest Man in Hollywood 1:07 A Boy Without a Map 2:13 The Dude Nobody Took Seriously 3:04 The Years of Loss 3:55 The Keanussance 4:58 Habits 1–2 6:17 Habits 3–5 8:07 Your Turn This channel is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Keanu Reeves or his representatives.
