Will God Walk with Me Through This Valley? | Psalm 23 Morning Prayer (Day 1 of 7)

Welcome to the first morning of 7 Mornings in the Psalms. For the next seven days, we will open one psalm each morning, read it slowly, and let it become our prayer. We begin with Psalm 23. You may know it by heart, but this morning, hear it as if for the first time, especially if you are walking through a valley right now. The Shepherd makes us lie down and restores our souls. We walk through the valley, not into it to stay, and in the darkest place David stops talking about God and starts talking to Him: "for you are with me." We remember the rod and the staff, and Jesus, the Good Shepherd who knows His sheep by name. Tomorrow morning: Psalm 91, shelter under the shadow of His wings.
