#LifeInJapan #RuralJapan #JapanVlog Rain in the mountains, warm coffee, and the quiet smell of oak chip smoke. ☕️ Today starts with a backpack and a water bottle at the door, and ends with a coffee break and a small bowl of smoked coconut chips. No talking, no music — just the sounds of the rain and the smokehouse. You can watch it while working, studying, or taking your own coffee break. ――― 🌿 In this video, you'll see: ・A misty, rainy walk to the smokehouse ・My morning coffee routine, ground and dripped by hand ・Taking online shop orders to the post in a light rain ・Smoking coconut chips with oak chips from old whisky barrels ・The moment I decide to stop the smoke ・Pressing the chips with kitchen paper to take away moisture ・Putting the labels on, weighing, bagging and vacuum sealing (50 g each) ・A coffee break with smoked coconut chips 🔥 Today's smoke ・Coconut chips — oak chips from old whisky barrels (made the same way as my smoked nuts) ・📺 Smoked nuts episode:    • A Quiet Morning in Rural Japan 🇯🇵 | Smokin...   ――― 📖 The hardest part If I smoke coconut until its color clearly changes, it turns sour and harsh. So I stop at just a faint touch of color, while the aroma is already rich. Finding that balance took me the longest. And after smoking, I always press the chips with kitchen paper — any moisture left would make them sour. 💭 From the smokehouse I make these so you can enjoy them as a snack, just as they are. They go well with drinks, of course — but honestly, they're really good with coffee. First the smoke drifts up through your nose, then the coconut fills your mouth, with a light, crispy crunch. ――― I hope this gives you a quiet little coffee break, wherever you are today. What's your go-to snack with coffee? Whether you've been here from the start or just found this channel, thank you for spending this rainy day with me. Have a gentle day. 🌿 ――― Chapters 0:00 Highlights 0:13 Out the door 0:25 A rainy walk 0:58 Opening the smokehouse 1:18 Morning coffee 1:56 To the post in a light rain 2:36 Setting up the smokers 3:42 Coconut onto the racks 4:19 Knowing when to stop 5:46 Kitchen paper 6:38 The next batch 7:30 Labels, bagging and sealing 9:01 Coffee break 9:58 Thank you 🌿 About this channel A tiny smokehouse in the mountains of Kochi, Japan. Work With Me sound videos and quiet days at the smokehouse — nuts, cheese, salt and miso smoked by hand, with wood chips chosen to match each food. I started smoking food 8 years ago, and this is my 5th year running my own smokehouse. ※Unauthorized use, reproduction, or reuploading of my videos, in whole or in part, is strictly prohibited. #LifeInJapan #RuralJapan #JapanVlog #Kochi #SlowLiving #QuietLife #Smokehouse #JapaneseFood #CoffeeBreak #RainyDay
