ELAI - Drinking Faith

Like a tree rooted beside hidden waters, our strength comes from what we nourish deep within. Through life’s changing seasons, challenges, and moments of growth, faith becomes the source that keeps us grounded, helps us rise, and shapes what we leave behind. Drinking Faith is a reminder that the deeper our roots, the higher we can grow. Lyrics: There is a tree beside the water Older than the names we know Drinking from a hidden river Deep beneath the earth below Where the earth gives way to heaven Rooted deep and growing higher Summer comes And summer passes Still it lifts its face above Storms may shake its outer branches But they cannot steal its love Years may write upon its bark Winds may test it day and night Yet it stands beside the water Turning always toward the light Where the earth gives way to heaven Rooted deep and growing higher A child rests beneath its shadow An elder leans upon its frame Neither sees the hidden journey That helped this tree become the same Quiet strength is rarely noticed Deepest roots are rarely seen Yet they hold the weight of forests Hidden underneath the green The sweetest fruit grows slow and quiet The deepest rivers run unseen And those who give their lives to goodness Leave the world more bright between Some leave silver Some leave gold Some leave stories To be told But the greatest gift A soul can give Is teaching other souls to live Light is planted in the earth Waiting for its day of birth Like a seed beneath the winter Like the dawn before the sun Every act of hidden goodness Grows long after it is done Where the earth gives way to heaven צַדִּיק כַּתָּמָר יִפְרָח Rooted deep and growing higher אוֹר זָרוּעַ לַצַּדִּיק In the footsteps left behind Generation after generation Still the light continues shining One seed One root One branch One sky One life That teaches others How to rise
