Plate making – an introduction to form and function. Ridge Pottery, August 2021.

Douglas Phillips discusses how the type of clay used and the method of production influences the form of the finished plate. The demonstrations are informal, often impromptu, and show a particular making technique or illustrate elements of a pot’s shape, form and function. As well as the demonstration there is often discussion with students that lend the videos an informal quality which (I think) adds to their interest and enjoyment.
