Fiat X1/9 mirror leaks

Storm Austen confirmed my suspicion - some water was getting into the car. Rather than just put down towels, took both off and covered the holes with duct tape - after drying the glass and shielding it with my body while applying. Waterproofed the driver's mirror first to test the process. 100% success. What is shown here is the same process for the passenger mirror. Noticed bottom of mirror mount slightly over top of door rubber so will later remount about 1mm higher to clear and fully seat against the glass. As usual have used blue threadlock and Dynax S50 - no affiliation to either businesses. In case you are wondering why no stainless strip on top of door card, am about to pull it to steal courtesy light wiring for a 1300 X1/9 overhead light. And the rood shown in this video is my spare roof, used to preserve the stunning carbon weave effect on the roof that came with the car.
