High-Power Committee Reviews Measures to Protect Indigenous Rights in Arunachal Pradesh
A High Power Committee (HPC) meeting was held at the Civil Secretariat in Itanagar to deliberate on measures for protecting indigenous rights and addressing concerns related to non-APST communities in Arunachal Pradesh.
The meeting was chaired by Adv. Kento Jini, Hon’ble Minister for Law, Legislative & Justice, SJETA and S&YA. Committee members reviewed the existing safeguards and discussed possible policy measures concerning legal protection, status recognition and equitable access to welfare schemes for non-APST communities, while also emphasizing the preservation of the state’s cultural identity.
The committee also examined gaps in the existing framework and discussed ways to strengthen administrative coordination and rights protection. Following the deliberations, the HPC agreed to prepare a detailed report containing proposed legislative and administrative measures for submission to the state government.
