We Bought a 200-Year-Old Off-Grid Farmhouse… One Year Later

One year ago, we moved into our 200-year-old off-grid Welsh farmhouse with big dreams, ambitious plans and absolutely no idea what we were letting ourselves in for! 😂 Twelve months later, have we achieved everything we hoped? Not even close! There's been flooding, endless repairs, machinery breakdowns, unexpected expenses and a seemingly never-ending list of jobs. And just when we think we're getting somewhere, something else comes along to keep us on our toes! But there's also been so much to love. From the peace and beauty of our woodland and the wildlife that surrounds us, to discovering the history of our old farmhouse and slowly making this wonderful place our home. In this week's video, we're taking a look back at our first year. Not so much a rundown of everything we've done, but an honest reflection on what life here has really been like. The things we've achieved, the things we haven't, what we've learned, what we love and, of course, the things that drive us absolutely bonkers! After six years living off-grid on our narrowboat, William Gladstone, we thought we knew a thing or two about alternative living. Turns out an old Welsh farmhouse and a few acres of land are a whole different kettle of fish! We might not be where we'd hoped to be after twelve months, but one thing's for certain: we still absolutely bloody love it here. ❤️ So grab a cuppa, put your feet up and join us for a slightly longer, rather nostalgic look back at our first year.
