This was my first trip filming in 2.8K so I hope the video quality keeps getting better from here. On this trip I ended up camping at nearby Hermosa Creek Valley near Durango. Had some friendly cow visitors for my morning coffee, then it was off for a hike up the East Fork of Cascade Creek. This trail is a loop with a 2 mile tail past the waterfall grotto. If you hike this I'd recommend going clockwise because there is a bridal veil waterfall (not shown in video), along the way that can only be seen and accessed from the lefthand side. I actually missed it on the way, but I'm sure there was a visible trail. I was able to see it on the way back but you could only see a portion of it. Hiking this in a loop is a challenging hike if you go out to 6.1 miles as the trail shows. I felt like I was going uphill both ways. 00:00 Hermosa Camp 00:23 Hike begins 01:26 Interlude 02:11 Hiking continues 03:09 Creek crossing 03:24 Entering the meadows 03:45 Interlude 04:59 Heading back through the meadows 05:44 Interesting mineral deposits 06:57 Grotto waterfall 08:22 Hiking back on the other side of the creek 09:24 Bridge crossing
