A morning prayer for a broken heart, for the grief you stopped mentioning and the thing nobody has asked you about in a long time.
What if the part of you that never got said out loud is the part He has been keeping in detail?
Most of what we carry is not hidden. It is unmentioned, which is a different thing. You tell two or three people at the time, they are kind, and then enough weeks pass that bringing it up would mean starting at the beginning. So it goes quiet, and quiet starts passing for healed. This prayer goes looking for what God does with the part nobody heard: a bottle held under something that is running so none of it goes on the ground, a man who sat down and cried and prayed in the middle of it, a psalm filed under a condition instead of a name, a God who says now rather than afterward, and a hand that binds up a break and counts the stars in the same breath.
SCRIPTURES IN THIS PRAYER
Psalm 56:8
"Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?"
Nehemiah 1:4
"And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven,"
Psalm 102, title and verses 9 and 17
"A Prayer of the afflicted, when he is overwhelmed, and poureth out his complaint before the LORD."
"For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping,"
"He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer."
Joel 2:12, 13
"Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil."
Psalm 147:3, 4
"He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names."

TODAY'S FOUR WORDS
God counted my tears.
Type those four words in the comments if today is yours. Send this to somebody who has been carrying something that never comes up in conversation. And if you find somebody else's prayer underneath, pray that one too on your way out into today. There is a new prayer here every morning.
