Recall - Ignacio Rosado (2026)

Recall - Ignacio Rosado (2026) for mixed sextet Recall presents pairs of twin music structures—Bit and Neuron—that share a general process (capturing, storing, recalling, altering, and restoring memory) and iterate over the same materials, the differences between them being inspired by the differences in computer and biological memory. In Bit movements, the material is essentially static, and each iteration is executed with precision. Conversely, in Neuron movements, the material is extremely fluid (reflecting human perception and the many different complex neurological processes that tug on our handling of memory), and travels in directions that exaggerate or amplify certain qualities in the music.
