Underneath the overhanging ledge, there is said to have been a cave in the mountain. In it lived a terrible dragon that was on the rampage on the surrounding meadows, spreading fear and terror among the population. At the same time there lived a giant man up in Guflina, who had the strength of twelve normal men. The farmers implored him to help them in their distress. The giant ventured to fight the dragon and was lying in wait above the cave. When the dragon refused to appear, the giant threw stones into the entrance of the cave. They got into a fight, which the giant only just won with difficulty. Since that day, people have lived in peace and prosperity. DEUTSCH Dort, wo man die beste Aussicht über die Alpentäler Liechtensteins genießt, liegt Guflina. Unter dem überhängenden Felsen soll sich früher eine Höhle in den Berg gezogen haben. Darin wohnte ein furchtbarer Drache, der auf den umliegenden Alpweiden sein Unwesen trieb und die Bevölkerung in Angst und Schrecken versetzte. Zur selben Zeit lebte oben in Guflina ein riesengroßer Mann, der die Kraft von zwölf normal sterblichen Menschen hatte. Die Bauern baten ihn, sie von ihrer Not zu befreien. Der Riese wagte den Kampf und legte sich oberhalb der Höhle auf die Lauer. Als sich der Drache jedoch nicht zeigte, warf er Steine in den Höhleneingang. Es kam zu einem Kampf, den der Riese mit Müh und Not gewann. Seit dieser Zeit leben die Menschen in Frieden und Wohlstand. Dans cette caverne, vivait jadis un terrible dragon qui saccageait les prés alentours et répandait la terreur parmi la population. En ces temps-là vivait à Guflina un géant dont la force valait celle de douze hommes. Les paysans en détresse le supplièrent de leur venir en aide. Le géant accepta et entreprit de se battre contre le dragon. Il alla se mettre en embuscade sur le promontoire au-dessus de la caverne. Constatant que le dragon n’était pas disposé à en sortir, il se mit à jeter des pierres dans la caverne. Le combat éclata immédiatement et le géant finit par l’emporter de justesse.
