This video will show you 3 easy and safe exercises for L5-S1 disc herniations. These exercises are also applicable to L4-L5 disc herniations. Dr. Marc Dupuis, chiropractor in Stanford, Maine, will demonstrate 3 effective lumbar disc herniation exercises and show you how to do them safely. L5-S1 disc herniation exercises and L5-S1 disc bulge exercises should not cause pain when doing them. If they do, stop the exercise. It is always best to get checked and cleared by your health practitioner before doing any exercise. These exercises for L5-S1 disc herniations have been carefully chosen by Dr. Marc Dupuis to help people suffering with lower back pain, buttock pain, and leg pain. They may help with reducing the irritation on the inflamed L4-L5 disc or inflamed L5-S1 disc and also help reduce the compression on the lower lumbar spinal nerves. You may start to notice a reduction of lower back pain and leg pain after doing these exercises. They are designed to assist with improving mobility, with creating imbibition (drawing of nutrients and water) for the injured disc, and they help relieve pressure on the spinal nerves that trigger sciatica leg pain.
