VIEWER/LISTENER WARNING! Again, if you haven't listened to the audio yet, consider it twice or only reading the transcript or none. This video has been edited with shaky hands and legs. After these many years of VASAviation listening to all kinds of recordings, this is probably the most explicit and disturbing. However I find the entire situation of high importance to learn as pilots and controllers. Showing the general public what bad weather really is for aviation is also a good point. Note to myself as a pilot and for all pilots: never ever underestimate weather. Never trust that gap. Never trust your eyes, or even the onboard radar. Never let others put you in a dangerous position. If in doubt, u-turn and fly to your last safe piece of airspace. Note to controllers: thanks for your help and your assistance. Never forget it's pilots up there playing with the weather and trying to find the good ride, the gap... the way home. If we request something, it's most of the times for a good reason. Note to passengers: thanks for your understanding. Never forget the pilots are also up there with you. If you're ever delayed or even cancelled for weather, never forget it's for a good reason. Weather is no joke and can take lives. May these pilots and everyone on board rest in piece. May this accident serve as a learning experience for everyone related to aviation. ___________________________________ Weather Radar Source: NOAA Audio source: https://www.liveatc.net/ Radar visuals created using ADS-B data courtesy of Airplanes.Live Disclaimer: These videos are made using real ATC audio recorded by amateur receivers and ADS-B data separately, then edited all together.
