Katelyn Goble stood trial in Newton County, Georgia, on five counts including malice murder in the death of Morgan Bauer. She pleaded not guilty. Her co-defendant, Jonathan Alexander Warren, pleaded guilty and is serving life without parole; the State said from its opening it did not intend to call him. Prosecutors say Goble helped kill Bauer, or only helped hide what Warren did, and the case leans harder than almost any this channel has covered on one thing: her own recorded words. This is the complete recording of State's Exhibit 104: the August 2, 2023 interview Goble gave a Peoria detective and a Georgia investigator, after searchers had already recovered evidence at the Porterdale property. The State played it to the jury across Trial Days 3 and 4, almost wall to wall, pausing only to let investigators confirm details against the forensic record. This video carries the whole recording, in the order the jury heard it, nothing trimmed out. It is the second of three volumes collecting every recorded statement played at this trial. Going in, investigators still had none of her Facebook records, but the remains had already been recovered. A Peoria detective and his sergeant open alone with her, reassuring her about her safety, before a Georgia investigator walks in and offers her what he calls a reset, a do-over. She is read her Miranda rights on camera and agrees to talk. Her core account does not change under the weight of what's now been found, but far more detail comes out over the next several hours, building to the passage where she is asked point blank whether it's possible she participated further than she's said, and to investigators stating their own read on that, on the record. Volume 1 carries the complete July 11, 2023 interview, the first time she told her account to police, before anyone confronted her. Volume 3 covers the hours after her arrest, the interview where her account changes, and the interview after her extradition to Georgia. Together they are the record the State says moved Goble from a woman explaining what she was afraid of to a woman describing, in her own words, what happened inside the house in Porterdale. Morgan Bauer, 19, flew to Atlanta in February 2016 and was reported missing weeks later; her family searched for seven years. Goble and Warren, both 19 at the time, are the two people prosecutors say were last with her, and it was Goble's own recorded words that eventually led investigators to where Morgan's remains had been left. WATCH WITH JUSTICE 0:00:00 Tendered as State's 104: the interview begins to play, and investigators confirm they still have no Facebook records at all. 0:14:01 The Georgia investigator's opening offer: "we just want a reset, kind of like a do-over." 0:14:24 Miranda is read to her on camera; she says she understands and agrees to talk. 2:11:36 The threat, in her own words: "I did it once, I can do it again... so if you do, then I'll hit you before you do." 2:14:37 Unprompted, she tells detectives exactly where to find a small box behind a bedroom vent. 2:20:18 Day 4: the same fear retold, more precisely — "I'm the only one who saw." 3:33:49 Asked point blank if it's possible she participated further than she's said: "It's possible... it's been blocked out." 3:39:19 Investigators state their own conclusion on the tape, for the record. 4:09:13 Asked for her phone's passcode, she gives it on camera without hesitation.
