The Sacredness of Marriage Vows | Keeping the Promises We Make Before God

Marriage vows are more than beautiful words spoken on a wedding day. They are covenant promises made before God—and Scripture teaches us to take our vows seriously. In this teaching, we explore the sacredness of marriage vows and what it means to live out the promises we make to our spouse throughout every season of marriage. We will look at biblical principles of covenant, faithfulness, forgiveness, perseverance, and honoring the marriage relationship. We will also consider how our vows should influence the way we communicate, handle conflict, maintain faithfulness, and respond when marriage becomes difficult. This teaching is part of our Christian marriage counseling course, designed to help couples understand and build marriage according to God’s original design.
