Welcome to Solo Dungeoning: Episode Five - Equilibrium. Far from the last in this series, fear not.
Bungie broke stunning news back in May, that their most successful live-service title would be ceasing production. Perhaps worse, they announced that all upcoming content would also be scrapped entirely, and that we'd never see the end of Destiny 2's intended story. It all wrapped up extremely abruptly; the Traveler self-repairing and reappearing above the Tower, various characters voicing lines about how we "made it", but most hauntingly of all, new decor and a special monument stand right at the Tower's centre, congratulating Guardians on their work, and rewarding them for the journey. A journey torn from us all too quickly. Don't get me wrong, I knew as well as many others that Destiny's story has been more-or-less wrapped up since The Final Shape, which is when many players voluntarily disembarked and moved on to greater pastures. Others saw it through, sensing that the end was near, but still enjoying the game for what remained and for what lied in future. Little did we know that the future we dreaded to see was a sudden cliff's end, and that the final major piece of content that we were graced with was a Star Wars themed DLC... It was a very last-minute decision, hell, Bungie didn't entirely know where they were headed at the time either. It shouldn't have ended this way. We knew it was coming, but God, not like this.
Renegades was pretty decent, as a player who was by no means engaged purely for the sake of said Star Wars content theming. I played because I was determined to see my favourite game to its end, although it came sooner than anticipated. Equilibrium was one of the most fun Contest-difficulty activities I have done in my time playing Destiny. That being said, I admit that the minute Contest was over, and my Fireteam dove into Normal-difficulty, it took a steep drop off in enjoyment and flavour. This solo was set up to be easy-as-pie, and for the most part, as you'll see, it was. And it's pretty darn fun, too... Until the final boss. Genuine snooze-fest and pain in my chest. I am so pleased to have this one DONE and out of mind. This is also probably the most unfamiliar I've been with a Dungeon so far, given that when I began Solo attempts, I'd only done it the once.
At least now I can rest easy knowing that I'm on my way to completing every Dungeon solo. No more rushed deadlines after content releases. I can take on these videos one at a time without interruption. So, I asked my YouTube audience in a community post to vote on which Dungeon I should tackle after this one. Per that poll, I am proud to announce that Grasp of Avarice is next on the menu. Thank you as always for all your love on this series. If you're still enjoying it despite "it all being over", please interact with my content by leaving a comment saying something nice. Share this series with a friend, and subscribe for the next one.
God bless.
