County Attorney Abbie Kamin Continues Fight Against Slumlords in Southwest Houston

Harris County Attorney Abbie Kamin continues her aggressive pursuit against lazy landlords, announcing the County is joining a lawsuit against the operators of Life at Jackson Square, a sprawling complex in the Meyerland area. The lawsuit seeks to identify the property as a nuisance and asks a judge to require the property owners to take several steps to bring the property into compliance. For years, residents there have dealt with dangerous crime, squalid living conditions, and neglected maintenance on the property. The petition calls for the property owners to close the property for one year, find safe, habitable living arrangements for existing tenants, and address the ongoing conditions that have made the property a nuisance to the neighborhood.
