We machined a 170-pound block of aluminum down to just 5 pounds to make a 28-inch satellite part, and it took 25 hours of cutting to get it done.
This video shows the full CNC workflow from start to finish. We programmed the part in Fusion 360, simulated toolpaths, and ran it across both our Matsuura 5-axis and Haas 3-axis machines. Every step was optimized for precision, tool life, and efficiency.
You’ll see real-time CAM programming, part loading, multi-axis machining, and the strategies we used to hold tight tolerances on a part that's actually going to space.
If you're interested in CNC machining, space technology, or innovation in manufacturing, follow us on our journey.
