Find out more on the amazing history of ACME whistles and Titanic!

Who knew there was so much to talk about when it comes to whistles?! My conversation with Simon Topham at ACME Whistles continued and we covered quite a lot… from megaphones and whistles to artefact recovery, there was plenty to get stuck into. But perhaps the biggest surprise for me was discovering just how difficult it actually is to make a whistle. It might look like a relatively simple little object but getting the design, sound and manufacturing process right is anything but simple. When you start talking about historic artefacts and the recovery of items connected to maritime history, things get even more interesting. Simon certainly knows his stuff, and I could have carried on asking questions all day! 🎥 In the third video from my visit to ACME Whistles, Simon talks me through some of the fascinating history, technology and stories behind these seemingly simple objects. And yes… I left with an even greater appreciation for the humble whistle! Want to find out more about Titanic?
