400 on a PHATTY!

Filmed in early June 2024. This tree was "hiding out” “round” the hill from the following video star -    • Stihl 400  Salami Slicing While Thinning   And as it ended up, due to the lack of monkey business necessary to get it “handled”, it took about the same amount of time to get it “deaded" and worked up. This tree has 4 to 5x the volume scale wise. Just goes to show… The bucking operation on this one was a little precarious on cut number 1. You will notice me scanning & contemplating the physics of what is about to happen. Touch it off and run for cover. In the end, God was watching out for, but most importantly, SMILING on me that day!!! Over the last 3 years, I’ve seen more of this type of bucking shenanigans than the previous 10/15 years of clearcut operations. But, I have been thinning a lot of 160 foot plus tall timber. As mentioned, testing the 1st gen prototype Max-Flow system for the Stihl ms362/400 (the real version) saws. It was, as always, performing well. Thanks for watching.
