With the Hirakud dam currently at 616 feet and heavy rainfall persisting in the Tel river basin, around 8.5 to 9 lakh cusecs of water is expected to reach Mundali by tomorrow evening. Cuttack and Puri districts have been put on high alert. The swelling Daya river is likely to flood low-lying areas like Nimapada, Kanas, Gop, and Astarang.
