Fengtai District, Beijing（Chinese：北京丰台） One of the six districts of the main city of Beijing, located in the southern part of the city. Fengtai District starts from the south bank of the moat outside Zuo'anmen in the east, southward to Nanyuan Donggaodi, and westward to Chongqing Reservoir, which borders Fangshan District, in a slightly rectangular shape. The longest length is 35 kilometers from east to west and 14 kilometers from north to south, with a total area of 306 square kilometers, of which about 224 square kilometers are plains. Yongding River runs through Fengtai from north to south, and the eastern part of the river adjacent to the downtown area of Beijing and the two sides of the Yongding River are mostly plains, while the western part is more hilly. The highest point in the district is the westernmost Ma'anshan, 654 meters above sea level, the lowest point for the southeast of the Fenzhong Temple, 35 meters above sea level. Fengtai District is the center of the capital city and the main carrying area for the core functions of the capital.
