Dead M2 MacBook Pro (A2780) Repair: Fan Spin, 20V 3A, Corrupted Firmware Fix

In this video, we diagnose and repair a completely dead Apple Silicon MacBook Pro 16" (A2780). Symptoms & Diagnostics: • Dead/No Display output. • USB-C Amperage: Drawing up to 20V 3A (Battery charging normally). • Battery Disconnected Test: High fan spin with no display or image (Classic corrupted firmware behavior). • NAND Power Lines: Steady voltages (No 20-second power cycling / boot looping, confirming NAND hardware is intact). Fix: We put the MacBook into DFU mode, connected it to an Ubuntu Linux workstation, and performed a firmware Revive (saving customer data) using idevicerestore compiled directly from the latest source code. ======================================================= HOW TO INSTALL THE LATEST IDEVICERESTORE ON UBUNTU / LINUX ======================================================= To revive recent Apple Silicon Macs on Linux without hitting errors, you need to compile the latest git versions of libimobiledevice and idevicerestore. 1. Remove Outdated APT Packages: sudo apt remove --purge -y idevicerestore libimobiledevice-utils libimobiledevice6 sudo apt autoremove -y 2.
