Condemned: Criminal Origins | Full Playthrough

Kicking off this Spooky Season with my first playthrough of Condemned: Criminal Origins, a game that beckoned me by cover alone many years ago at the local Blockbuster! Over twenty years later I finally got to experience what I was denied so long ago and let me tell you... it did NOT disappoint. This game did something special with its mystery, storytelling, characters, and sound design, but where it really shined was its level design. It keeps you on the edge of your seat, almost making you finish it in one sitting because it commands that much of your attention. And while it certainly has its frights, I liked that Ethan Thomas is rarely left helpless. Pipes, rebar, fire axes, 2x4s... if the environment gives you something to fight back with, you better believe I'm picking it up. Well okay, not anything, but more than a lot of other games I've played before 😂 The use of these weapons of opportunity had me excited to scour every level for new creative ways to deal with this city's tormented criminals. Then you get collectibles? Dead birds and metal pieces hiding throughout the levels?? This game and my playstyle were meant to meet; love at first play 💛 The story left me with some minor confusion, but who knows - maybe the sequel will clear that up. Look no further if you want a spooky, enjoyable, and mesmerizing time that will keep you on the edge of your seat while you uncover the mystery and clear your name!
