Witness a grand cultural spectacle from the International Ramayana Festival, organized by the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC). This video captures the inaugural ceremony and a series of diverse cultural performances that bring the epic Ramayana to life through the traditions of different nations.
The festival features renowned artists and troupes from across Asia, each presenting their unique interpretation of the Ramayana:
India: Ganesha Natyalaya (Delhi) – Led by the renowned Dr. Saroja Vaidyanathan, they open the cultural segment with a powerful performance blending traditional Bharatnatyam with the narrative of Rama.
Philippines: Integrated Performing Arts Guild (IPAG) – This acclaimed group presents "Sita: The Ramayana Revisited," weaving Filipino folklore and indigenous dance into the epic.
Cambodia: The Royal Ballet of Cambodia – Known for its graceful and stylized movements, this troupe brings the ancient Khmer version of the Ramayana (Reamker) to the stage.
Indonesia: Suryo Purmono Troupe – A vibrant presentation featuring the distinct Javanese/Balinese style of dance-drama, characterized by intricate costumes and expressive storytelling.
Experience how the universal values of the Ramayana—truth, loyalty, and righteousness—transcend borders and languages in this magnificent international showcase.
