My friend Dyrk has never heard of SCP before... What could possibly go wrong when I dump him into one of the best horror franchises in history with no warnings?

| Reflection on the video |
The following is the continuation of an experiment/personal benchmark that I've decided to start setting for myself and also serve as a little sneak peak into my video creation process. These are little personal notes that I leave to reflect on what went well and should be continued next time and what might need some revision and fixing for my next upload. It also will serve as a personal archive for the suffering I've gone through in editing each video lol.
What went well:
This is the first time that I've uploaded somewhat recent footage. As of when I've uploaded this video to YouTube, the actual raw footage was recorded only 2-4 weeks ago. Normally I stall on this kind of stuff and it gets dragged out several months in development hell. This marks the first time that I've made a long form video that actually got uploaded within a month of starting it. There were a lot of hiccups that made me want to quit, but we got there in the end and I think that's something to be proud of.
I also decided to deviate slightly from my usual MO and made a small horror section of the video. I thought for a long time about making the SCP-106 jumpscare the ending to the video with a fade into end screen, but there were a few peanut funnies that I just couldn't leave out. Also I think that the ending Cyber Punk meme was a good way to leave it off, even if I couldn't create an end screen (small YouTuber sacrilege). And speaking of the SCP-106 jump scare...
What went NOT so well:
Oh my good lord the SCP-106 jump scare was IMPOSSIBLE! I didn't have a good way of testing it to see if it was any good because Davinci Resolve would LAG every time I played a section of the video with Fusion effects! I had to manually move the fusion effects out of the frame every time I wanted to make a change, and then directly back on, at which point I just had to assume it looked good because it would lag the program so bad that I couldn't even see what was happening until it was over. Even after I got over the jump scare thing (Please let me know what you thought of it in the comments if you're reading this I would really appreciate some feedback) when I tried to export the project using the Davinci YouTube settings the video kept corrupting, like, really bad. It would create long pixelated smears every time the footage zoomed in, and aspects would freeze in place for far too long. I ended up looking for a million YouTube tutorials on how to fix the issue but nothing seemed related to my problem. I changed the codec, I changed the aspect ratio, I looked under every setting I could, and found nothing. Eventually I found the solution... Don't use Davinci Resolve's YouTube export settings... Thats it. For some reason, when exporting as a youtube video Davinci will compress the video so hard that it corrupts the video. The real solution is to just use a custom export and use all the same settings that you would have applied to the YouTube export... I'ts been a fun week... I hate to think of how that's affected my other videos, because they've all been uploaded though the YouTube Export as well. I noticed some corruption on my Ready or Not video, but I couldn't tell what was causing it, but now I know. I wont be making that mistake again and hopefully my video quality will increase from now on.
Extra Notes:
Even though my footage is in 1800p, I exported it as 4K because that's supposed to make YouTube give me better quality or something IDK but ill be doing that from now on too.
Thank you for reading my ranting! Luv u a ton!
