The road to Lake Emma - Eureka Gulch

Our tour of the Lake Emma site. We visited here in 2022 but our GoPro malfunctioned and we didn't get much of the trip on video. Went back this July (2023) and recorded it again. Lake Emma is drained because a mine tunnel under it collapsed on June 4, 1978 and drained the lake through the Sunnyside mine. Because of the heavy snow season the area had this past winter we couldn't access some parts of the area we visited last year. Also, there is work being done on the lake bottom and part of the road is closed. This is a very interesting site and well worth a visit especially if you have any interest in Colorado's mining history.
