Lonach Highlanders march to a drumbeat through Strathdon for 2026 Lonach Gathering in Scotland

The Lonach Highlanders on their outward morning march through Strathdon from Bellabeg, in the Cairngorms National Park, Scotland. This was part of the annual Lonach Gathering & Highland Games in Scotland on Saturday 22nd August 2026. For more videos from this event, and across Scotland, see our page ‪@BraemarMedia‬ The march is led here by the 3 Lonach Highlanders with their Lochaber axes, the Drum Majors and Lonach Pipe band, with just the bass drummer keeping the beat for the march. Leading the Highlanders behind the banners is Sir James Forbes, Patron of the Lonach Highland and Friendly Society, formed in 1823 and made up of men from the Strathdon area of Scotland. The Highlanders, with their ceremonial Swords, Lochaber axes and eight-foot long pikes, are all members of Clan Forbes, Clan Gordon and Clan Wallace.
