Somewhere above a quiet street, a row of sheets sways on the balcony line, and the whole day seems to breathe with them. A neighbor’s radio hums something kind, warm bread drifts up the stairwell, and nobody is asking where you are going or why.
This is a song about the soft rebellion of doing nothing at all. The phone lies face down beside the plant, buzzing into the silence, and for once it can wait. Every minute here belongs to you, to keep and to spend slowly. Socks rest on the railing, sunlight pools on the floor, and the hours are folded into small squares and put away where nobody cares to look.
Down the block, a neighbor’s kid practices the same four notes again and again, and somehow they float. The coffee goes cold and it does not matter. The week waits out in the hall, free to knock, while you simply do not answer. A towel dries in the afternoon, a church bell drifts in from far away, and you realize the best parts of a week are the ones with no name and no plan.
By the end, the day is folded and tucked in. Tomorrow can have you, just not today.

Lyrics
Sheets are hanging on the balcony line
Someone’s radio is playing something kind
Warm bread is climbing up the stairwell air
Nobody’s asking where I’m going or where
Phone face down beside the plant
Let it buzz, I don’t have to answer
Every minute here is mine
Mine to keep, mine to spend slow
It’s a slow Sunday, nothing to prove
Socks on the railing, sun in the room
Folding the hours into small squares
Put them away, nobody cares
It’s a slow Sunday, I’m doing fine
Just the clothesline, swaying in time
Neighbor’s kid is learning the same four notes
Over and over, and it somehow floats
Coffee going cold and I don’t mind
Leaving all the loose ends behind
Nothing here is asking for more
Just a window and an open door
Let the week wait out in the hall
It can knock, I won’t answer at all
It’s a slow Sunday, nothing to prove
Warm cotton breeze, and a soft afternoon
Folding the hours into small squares
Put them away, nobody cares
It’s a slow Sunday, I’m doing fine
Just the clothesline, swaying in time
Funny how the best parts of a week
Are the ones with no name and no plan
A towel drying in the afternoon
And a song that I almost know by heart
It’s a slow Sunday, nothing to prove
Socks on the railing, sun in the room
The day is folded and put away
Tomorrow can have me, not today
It’s a slow Sunday, I’m doing fine
Just the clothesline, swaying in time
Slow Sunday
Mm, slow Sunday
