How a group of Englishmen from the 1930s envisioned a possible manned moon landing. The British Interplanetary Society Technical Committee developed the world's first detailed study of a crewed lunar mission. A gumdrop-shaped lunar lander would sit atop a five-stage solid fueled rocket and carry a crew of 3 on a 14-day trip to the lunar surface and back.
