The throne room doors closed behind Joffrey. Robert was alive, away on the hunt. Ned Stark set the Hand's seal on the table and his men barred the doors.
"Hound, kill him." Sandor Clegane did not move. A living king could still ask why his Hand was dead.
Ned had the book of lineages, a black-haired apprentice at a forge, and a question he could not prove. In the show he warned Cersei first. Here he held her son behind two doors, fed and unchained, so that Robert would hear the truth before the children vanished. Then the boar found the king.
Now Cersei holds the city outside the room, Janos Slynt holds the gate, and a paid berth at the quay is the only road home for Sansa and Arya. Can a man who took the heir hostage still get his daughters out of King's Landing?
