Walking tour of the prettiest village in Italy

Bobbio is a small village/town just outside of Piacenza, in the Trebbia River valley. It is one of the prettiest villages in Italy. It has been visited by writers (Ernest Hemingway) and artists (Leonardo Da Vinci is thought to have completed the Mona Lisa here. I was in Piacenza for a Health Informatics conference, and I knew that I would be able to see and explore Piacenza in the mornings and evenings before the conference. I set off to Bobbio as the weather didn’t look great and in photos, I saw online it looked like it would still be pretty with grey skies. There was a direct bus which made getting there and back easy and cheap. I was surprised with Bobbio and the weather as it ended up being a glorious day! I hadn’t done lots of research on what to see and do, but this town was way more than I expected. From the Devil’s bridge with its 11 irregular arches to the beautiful churches and castle. I kept finding things to enjoy! I wish I could have stayed longer but the last bus back to Piacenza in October meant leaving before 16:00. Coming here reinforced my desire to find places like this in the world.
