I Found a Forgotten 1969 Jaguar E-Type in a Junkyard — Full Restoration In this full car restoration journey, we discover a heavily rusted and forgotten 1969 Jaguar E-Type sitting in an old junkyard. After inspecting the car, we negotiate a $700 purchase, load the Jaguar onto a recovery truck and bring it to the restoration garage. The restoration begins with removing the rust, cleaning the body, stripping the old surface, repairing the headlights and completely rebuilding the engine. The engine is carefully disassembled, cleaned, repaired and reinstalled into the Jaguar. The entire body is stripped and professionally painted in a beautiful glossy classic blue finish. Finally, the restored engine is started for the first time and the Jaguar returns to the road.
