For Autumn/Winter 2025-26, Bora Aksu draws inspiration from the influential life of Empress Elisabeth of Austria, a figure whose beauty, tragedy, and complexity have captivated generations even 125 years after her death. Aksu also found inspiration in the work of Egon Schiele, the revolutionary Austrian Expressionist painter whose distinctive style defied conventional notions of beauty. Aksu imagined how Empress Elisabeth might have been seen through Schiele’s provocative, expressive gaze — a contrast to her carefully curated royal image.
