PALM BEACH COUNTY COAST TORN AWAY! JUPITER Stairs COLLAPSE, JUNO PIER Closed by King Tide King tides, gale force winds and heavy surf scoured the Palm Beach County coast in late October. Part of the staircase behind the historic Jupiter Civic Center collapsed, the county sent an emergency sand contractor on Tuesday, October 27, and the Juno Beach Pier closed until further notice after deck panels popped out. The county's tide page had said no 2026 king tide was predicted to reach flood stage. No official damage figure has been published. The next king tide window is November 6 to 9. In this video, we ask how the sea took so much sand from a coast whose own tide page predicted no flood stage, from the Juno Beach Pier and the Jupiter Reef Club to the Jupiter Civic Center, the emergency sand crews, the wind and surf that rode on the tide, earlier Florida floods, the critically eroded shoreline, the shrinking edge at Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse, what is still unknown about the cost, and the next king tides of November 6 to 9 and November 24 to 27. EWN (Extreme Weather Network) covers floods, hurricanes and other extreme weather around the world as it develops, with real footage and verified facts from official sources and trusted news outlets.
