This was a great lecture and Q and A with Dr. Ramadan Hussein. I thoroughly enjoyed this fascinating talk with Ramadan, who really is extraordinarily knowledgeable about the necropolis at Saqqara. Here he talks about his recent discoveries made on the National Geographic show - Kingdom of the Mummies, which include a embalming workshop - with exciting new archaeological evidence helping to reveal more information about the complex process. He also tells us about terrifying poisonous GIANT water bugs, immortalised on walls and ritually preserved and placed in tomb shaft in-fill. Ramadan talks about the mummies that reveal the impressive multi-cultural reality and religious tolerance of Egypt in antiquity and the evidence of a noteworthy and quite unusual snake goddess cult.
