Bluebeard — The Forbidden Door | A Dark Fairy Tale by Charles Perrault

A great house, a ring of keys, and one little door that must never be opened. Charles Perrault's Bluebeard is told here slowly, by candlelight, as an old book read aloud — the eight days of feasting, the promise given, the stain that would not lift from the iron, and a sister watching an empty road from the top of a tower. Solemn, mystical, and gentle in the telling, with all its old weight kept intact. Settle in, dim the light, and listen to the whole tale from the first page to the last.
