In this video, I show you how to replace the serpentine belt (accessory drive belt) on a Honda Civic 9th Generation (2012-2017) with the 2.2 i-DTEC (N22B4) engine. The engine bay is very tight on this model, so I also demonstrate how to make a simple DIY tool to reach the belt tensioner easily.
The Problem & Solution:
Accessing the serpentine belt tensioner on the 150HP i-DTEC engine is difficult with standard wrenches. My custom DIY tool allows you to release the tension safely and quickly without removing extra components.
What is covered in this DIY repair guide:
How to access the belt drive system from the wheel arch.
Releasing the belt tension and removing the old belt.
Step-by-step belt routing and installation of the new belt.
