He said the crash happened around 6:15 AM. A traffic camera placed his truck on the road around 2:20 AM.
Case File Cam examines the account given by off-duty Sacramento County sheriff's detective Glen Barawed through released Sacramento Police Department bodycam footage, traffic-camera evidence and the Internal Affairs record. The camera footage documents the earlier timeline, not the collision itself.
The department sustained dishonesty, neglect of duty and failure of good behavior findings. Barawed was terminated in March 2020, and an arbitrator later denied his appeal. He was not criminally charged in this incident. Any blood-alcohol back-calculation discussed in the episode is the investigator's estimate, not a direct measurement at the time of the crash.
