Mason Bee Fall Harvest: How WE Clean vs. How YOU Clean at Home #rentmasonbees

Ever wonder how we clean 3 MILLION mason bee cocoons and how YOU can clean your own at home? Join us behind the scenes at Rent Mason Bees' annual Fall Harvest! At each cleaning station, we'll demonstrate how YOU can clean your own mason bee cocoons at home using the same techniques we use on a much larger scale. You'll also see how our team harvests, sorts, washes, and inspects millions of mason bee cocoons each year. WE CLEAN vs. YOU CLEAN: What's the Difference? WE CLEAN: Release → Pollinate → Return With our rental program, you release your mason bees, enjoy the pollination, and return your nesting block at the end of the season. We handle the harvesting, cleaning, predator removal, and winter storage for you! YOU CLEAN: Release → Pollinate → Clean → Keep Prefer to care for your own bees? We'll teach you how! Learn how to open your nesting materials, harvest and wash your cocoons, identify predators, inspect your bees, and properly store them over winter. WHY IS CLEANING SO IMPORTANT? Your bee house may look healthy on the outside, but inside the nesting chambers, pollen mites, Houdini flies, chalkbrood, parasitic wasps, and other threats may be hiding alongside healthy mason bee cocoons. Proper harvesting and cleaning help protect future generations of mason bees and prevent your bee house from becoming a predator hotel. Whether we're cleaning 3 million cocoons or you're cleaning 30, every mason bee deserves a healthy start next spring! At Rent Mason Bees, we provide clean mason bee cocoons, nesting materials, bee houses, and supplies, along with the education and support to help you successfully host solitary bees.
