I always say consistency starts with showing up. Today, I put my own advice to the test: running up Snowdon twice in wind and rain. Starting on the Snowdon Ranger Path, I climbed to the first summit, descended the Pyg Track to Pen y Pass, then headed back up via the Miners’ Track for round two. Soaking wet and surrounded by cloud, this became an adventure about more than running. It’s about preparing the night before, following through on your plans and surrounding yourself with people who want you to do well. For me, getting outside is a chance to clear the head and process my thoughts. My kind of free therapy—with Skye waiting at the finish. THE RUN • Distance: 13.89 miles • Time: 3:14:02 • Total ascent: 1,674 m • Average pace: 13:59 per mile • Calories: 2,290 MY KIT • DJI Osmo Pocket 3 and microphone ‪@DJI‬ • Garmin Fenix 8 with Running heart-rate strap ‪@Garmin‬ • Kalenji 10L running vest • OEX dry bags X4 • Peter Storm - Storm Shield Jacket • SAXX underwear—no chafing on this run • Nike shorts • Salomon socks • La Sportiva trail shoes—the grip impressed me today ‪@LaSportivaYT‬ Mountain weather can change quickly. Prepare for the conditions, know your limits and be willing to change your plan.
