Hocus Pocus (1993) Cast Then and Now 2026 — 33 Years Later, Where Are They Now?

Hocus Pocus (1993) Cast Then and Now 2026 — 33 Years Later, Where Are They Now? 33 years after Hocus Pocus first arrived in theaters, the Sanderson sisters are still casting their spell every Halloween. But what happened to the original cast after 1993? In this documentary, we revisit the Hocus Pocus cast THEN AND NOW — including Bette Midler as Winifred Sanderson, Sarah Jessica Parker as Sarah Sanderson, Kathy Najimy as Mary Sanderson, Omri Katz as Max Dennison, Thora Birch as Dani Dennison, Vinessa Shaw as Allison, Doug Jones as Billy Butcherson, Sean Murray as the human Thackery Binx and many more familiar faces. Some became major Hollywood and television stars. Some stepped away from acting. Several beloved performers are sadly no longer with us. And decades after the original movie, some members of the cast found their way back to the world of Hocus Pocus. But this story goes beyond a simple THEN AND NOW comparison. Why was a movie that became a Halloween tradition originally released in July? Where was Hocus Pocus really filmed? Which famous cemetery scene wasn't actually filmed in Salem? Who really brought Thackery Binx to life? Which original stars returned for Hocus Pocus 2? And what happened when members of the original young cast reunited 33 years later? We'll revisit the real filming locations around Salem and Marblehead, explore the practical and early digital effects behind the movie, look at the careers of the original cast, remember the performers we've lost, and uncover how Hocus Pocus transformed from a strange summer release in 1993 into a Halloween tradition watched by new generations. Because perhaps the biggest THEN AND NOW transformation isn't one of the actors at all. It's Hocus Pocus itself. Which character was your favorite — Winifred, Sarah, Mary, Max, Dani, Binx or Billy?
