From the haunting shores of the Skeleton Coast, littered with shipwrecks and whale bones and mysterious signs of life, to the remote, rugged expanses of Kaokoland, home to the indigenous Himba people, this journey delivered awe-inspiring sights and experiences every day. Our adventure was mostly about the search for the enigmatic Lone Men of Kaokoland—nearly life-sized stone sculptures that blend so seamlessly into the landscape they seem to spring from the earth itself.
