In his generation of musicologists Otanazar Matyakubov stands out not only with his deep knowledge of the origins and theory of Uzbek music, but also with his incredibly strong power of storytelling. This documentary was a graduation film by cameraman Orif Abdurakhmanov, and directed by B.Bazarbayev. Otanazar Matyakubov takes the viewer on a journey of the history of Uzbekistan's conservatory. He also masterfully describes an old legend which explains the power of music over words. The viewer will also learn about the masters of the dutar - Uzbekistan's national instrument.
