Frédéric Chopin: Ballade No. 1 in G minor, Op. 23 Chopin's first Ballade (1835) is a story without words: a questioning Largo and its famous dissonant chord, a hesitant waltz-like song in G minor, and a tender E♭ major second theme, both transformed into towering climaxes, a glittering scherzando, and a Presto con fuoco coda of tragic fury. Requests welcome: tell me in the comments which piece to animate next.
